Springtime anywhere is something special. But springtime along Chicago’s North Shore? That’s pretty much nothing short of spectacular.
On an average day, a short dog walk around the quaint towns along Lake Michigan is more than enough inspiration than you’ll ever need. But add local architecture as a backdrop to that pop of seasonal color—- and it transforms into an absolute work of art!
And apparently it’s something I never tire of, because I gush about it. Year after year after year. Including this year. Here are a few favorite spring palettes Blue and I captured during an afternoon stroll through charming Lake Bluff and Lake Forest.
Simply stunning.
Darling mini crab apples all in a row, brighten this old firehouse wall.
An umbrella of fragrant viburnum creates the perfect spot for us to sit and enjoy a coffee and a well-deserved bone.
Love how this elegant curve of pink tulips leads my eye to that craggy, old stone wall.
A charming mix of tulips and textures.
Blue pauses near a cement planter filled with ranunculus and pansies on Market Square.
The graceful lines on this gorgeous white crab apple are truly a thing of beauty……
But even a modest pansy pot of mixed spring hues is worthy of a stop—- and a smile.
Hope you catch a moment to enjoy the last of this season’s show….where ever you may be!
